SABBATH REFLECTIONS – KOWTOWING: LL BEAN AND NIGERIA

February 18, 2018

Reflections –  reflections related to the origins of this past week’s tragedy in Florida – (owtowing).

Any  way you slice and dice it,  it is a grave matter to not attend church on a Sunday.

10 com

But – it’s easy!    When we Americans go to church,  we can be 98% sure that we won’t be massacred while in church.   We can be 95% sure we won’t be accosted by angry demonstrators as we leave our churches.     (We can be 10% sure that we won’t hear ridicule and insults heaped upon us by the current “culture” around us.)

Not so in other areas of the world –  which are included in the word “universal” –  the name given to our church way back at the end of the first century.    (Greek word for universal =  “Catholic.”)    All humans are included, equally, and warmly.

Not so elsewhere.    Let’s start a tour   with India  –

Christianis in India

Christians are not protected in India.  They are burnt, beaten, killed;  their houses and churches are destroyed . . . (by Mos l ems and by “peace”-loving Ghandi-type Hindus) .

Further East:

Chinese Requires Church

And few are “sanctioned” —

Chinese Church BEING Wrecked

That photo shows the new policy towards churches in China, many buildings are currently being razed.

Somewhat west of India

christians killed

And south of India  —

nigerian church attacked

Here is a still-shot from a video I was going to post last Sunday –  because every Sunday there is news of yet more attacks on Christians as they worship, somewhere in the world, and I want to make these poor victims known to the world.  We want to  ‘aid”  victims, don’t we?

Maybe only prayer  is possible ,  as this Nigerian man knows —

Nigerian in church

And this Nigerian woman —

nigerian woman

It is the norm for a human to want to worship God.   It is normal to pay homage to one’s Creator, absent generations-long indoctrination to the contrary.    It is normal among humans to seek Truth.

In European-derived nations, indoctrination seems to be the weapon of choice.  However, in Africa last Sunday,  and in other parts of the world,  the machete seems to be a common weapon of choice.

nigerian machete

This is a still-shot from a video shown a few days ago of armed men running through Christian villages and farms,  destroying livestock,  buildings,  and sometimes human lives.

Things seem to be getting worse for Christians in this world in this present time.  (It’s not a surprise that it will happen;  it’s just a surprise that it actually is happening, in front of our eyes.)   What will be done about violence against Christians?

Nothing, really.   The governments will do nothing effective.  “Missionary groups” with money from wealthier nations will not make it safer for Christians.   Public opinion in America will continue to be oblivious.

And this is where the LL Bean company comes in.     LL Bean is a good family owned company that has been selling quality clothes and things for 91 years.   I love their styles!  If I were a man,  I would get my entire wardrobe from them!

ll bean slippers

Here is a pair of slippers that I gave to my daughter.   They didn’t fit,  so we exchanged them with LL Bean’s generous and easy exchange policy,  (I didn’t get her the cat;  I had  gotten her a bear, one half on each slipper.   They didn’t have a bear in her size, so I wanted to get her a moose –  they live in the High Sierras, after all –  but she  chose instead a  whimsical goofy-looking frog.   It’s cute.)

This morning on the radio, on some financial advice program that happened to be on when I woke up,  I heard them say that LL Bean is now changing their 91-year old exchange policy;  and it’s basically, bottom line, due to the highly immoral conditions pervasive in our society.   You can still exchange things, but only for one year after purchase, and with proof of purchase,  and with a stated reason.  Still generous,  but no longer trusting and generous.

Can’t be, any longer.   Everywhere,  from highest to lowest activities,  we are being compliant to Falling Values.      We kowtow.

Something as major as going to church,  something  as  trivial as buying clothes from a 91 year old family owned business,   something as common as going to school and expecting to be safe,  and everywhere  in between,  Christian values which a society could count on are being . . .  well, devalued.

Let’s look at the good:

Nothing is so  joyous as an African man at prayer!   Nothing is so philosophically calm and certain as an Indian at worship.   Nothing is so motivated as a Western man coming out of Mass.

And nothing is so sweet as a Chinese man  adoring Emmanuel,  God With Us,    God Who Became Human for us.

Chinese Madonna Chinese

And that brings me to KOWTOW   –

a word UNIVERSAL in its own meaning.

(Next time.)

WE GAVE “THEM” OUR CHILDREN

February 18, 2018

A small sad  Rant tonight:

If you follow one avenue of analysis,  you will find the motto:  “Get the children first.” Never mind the parents,  get the children – and you will have your revolution.

__________________________________________

Do you ever go around the Internet and choose a little city at random and read their local news?   If you have time,  it can reveal some interesting (national) trends.

In our little area, here in the Far North, in the middle of Fly-Over country,   in a nearby small town,   a day after the school shooting in Florida,  the school of this small town was closed down for two days –  after receiving a “shooting” threat.

If you didn’t make it “here” to our local news – no reason you should have –  maybe you saw this in the national news, another “interesting” trend:

GET A GRIP

It was slipped under the door of the principal’s office in a school near Parkland, Florida, this past week.

I can’t show the rest of the note – there’s so much obscene and foul language in it.

It was written by an eleven year old girl – who was apparently not protected from the hysterical and actually hateful news reporting of this past week.   And she was apparently not parented this week.   What she heard was not put into any  perspective proper to an eleven year old girl.

Her mind is at the mercy of the entertainment-news media and of the Revolutionary Radical-Leftist influences promoted by our government (public)  schools.     Her mind and her emotions.    In a culture which has lost its capacity to rear its young, we seem to think children can raise themselves, according to any current trends.

A few hundred years ago a major prophecy was given to the Church – concerning not just the future, but specifically the 20th century, and the “interesting” trends that will begin in that most dark of all human centuries.   One of the predictions was that the children of that century will be almost totally corrupted.

There will be no more innocence among children.

When this prophecy was discovered in the 1800s,   more than a couple hundred years after it was written,  that statement alone was too startling to even believe.   Children have always been protected,  parented,   taught how to become human beings, trained in the highest values of civilization.  It was inconceivable that a whole century would somehow abandon their children to the point that generations of children could become so degraded.

Marx,  Lenin,  Stalin,  “Rules for Radicals,”  Communist writings —  socialist educators like Dr. John Dewey (who almost single-handedly corrupted American schools –  I witnessed this transformation when I taught in public schools) — all these  say the same thing:  “Give me the children . . .”

I had intended to write about the Olympics tonight.

Like many Americans, I have a long history of watching the Olympics,  cheering for our own athletes,   being inspired by their skill and dedication.    When I was a teenager,  I watched the winter Olympics and then went out and built my own ski jump in the surrounding forest.  After school each day I practiced on that ski jump –  not sure I’d have the courage to jump that far and that high today,  but it gave me a tiny taste of the life of those Olympic athletes.     Striving to be better;  striving for excellence.

I cannot write about the Olympics this year.   (“Good parenting”  taught me “If you can’t say something nice about someone, don’t say anything at all.”     Hah!)

Each night, and several times each night,  deviant behavior is showcased, promoted, and at the very least spoken of casually.

The picture of the American team members that the entertainment-news media showed to us was beyond youthful exuberance and joy.  This year’s American athletes were photographed being shamefully immature, juvenile,  arrogant, and appeared to feel they were entitled to all the medals  which were sure to come to them (and which most didn’t get).    They were therefore  like children:   vulnerable  to adulation and willingly complicit in promoting anti-American sentiments, anti-American values,  anti-family behavior.

(Did you hear the athletes of any other nation bad-mouthing their own nations or presidents or vice-presidents?   Did any other country’s announcers continually point out deviant behavior of their athletes?  )

So.    Yes, Mom.  Yes, Grandma:    I won’t say anything at all about individual athletes.   I’ll  just have more free time now away from the television.

But I feel rather sad for the children of our country.

We gave them away . . . .

(For those of you trained in marxist thinking where there are no absolutes –  this is not an “absolute”  100% statement.  Of course it isn’t.    But it takes only one eleven year old girl without moral training to make life very unpleasant for our society.)

.

Reclaiming America?     Restoring American values?

There can be push-back.    Maybe there could be enough push-back.

But there won’t be.   I’ll write about that in the next post.

VIKING DOWN!

January 30, 2018

No, I don’t mean the Minnesota team which is down-for-the-count this season.

vikings

“Viking” is a distinct culture, a heritage,   a way of life,  a  mindset.

__________________________________________

I mean  “Viking”  like the kind of guys in my family:  Scandinavian,  tall, blond big guys — like this one in Sweden:

Viking down

Swedish citizen,  attacked and knocked down by  the so-called “New-Swedes.”    You know,  the ones that don’t look like Swedes?  Or act like Swedes?   The New-Swedes who openly declare they’re going to get rid of all the blond-haired white Swedish scum and take over the country.

You’ve probably read about the African invaders who are killing,  burning,  blowing up, stabbing,  and raping Swedish things and Swedish people, while being supported by Swedish taxes paid by Swedish people  — in the name of,  what?   Immigration?   Diversity?   Open  borders?

This is happening in Norway, Sweden,  Finland,  and Denmark –  all the Scandinavian countries.       More and more citizens are living in  discomfort and fear.   I have read more than once that people are asking  “Where is the Viking heritage?   Where are the Viking men to protect their families and their land?”

The blond man in the picture was beaten by a small group of Africans who have been relocated to Sweden.   Look at his knuckles.   I noticed they were uninjured.   Did he not defend himself?    Perhaps that’s unfair,  but that Viking is down.

The Vikings are “down,” now,  as are people of European heritage in many places.   Though maybe only temporarily.

finland-Laura-Huhtasaari-910377

This young woman is Laura Huhtasaari, and she’s running for president of Finland.  Her photo caught my attention because she has the same coloring as my children did when they were younger;    they have more of the dark gold of a Swede, but they started out with the “white” of a Finn.   But I’m glad I saw the photo, because then I  read the accompanying article.

She is doing well so far:  She is “trying to bring anti-immigration populist ideas back to mainstream Finnish politics and her campaign for the presidency has seen her reputation soar ahead of the first round of voting on Sunday,”   the article said.

“Finland First”   is the motto of her and her party.

Why can’t Finland be Finnish?    Shouldn’t the Finns decide?   Sweden be Swedish?    Shouldn’t the Swedes exist as Swedes?

For that matter,   I’d like to see the French be French (forever!),   and the Germans be German in their culture.   The Danes,  the Poles,  the Czechs,  the Italians,  even the Welsh,  the  Scots, the Irish and the English — all these unique  cultures have so much to offer mankind — we can’t let them disappear in a mad dash to make everyone   homogeneous: “tan”  citizens of a borderless unisex politically correct world, with no distinctions in religion,  language,  materialism,  manners and customs  . . . .

I don’t know how to end this.       Hurray for Miss Huhtasaari!    Hurray for the Swedes and Finns!  Hurray for ALL the cultures in the world!

The Global Socialists  (Progressives in America) would have us believe that if you are patriotic about your own  country,  you must be planning harm to others.   If you love your culture, you must hate those who are different from you.    If you like who you are, and you want to be just exactly who you really are,  then you must dislike others.

It doesn’t really work that way.

I say:  Hurray for YOU!

TWO ANTI’s TO AN ANTI TO ALL ANTIs

January 12, 2018

A rant, on my part:

(That’s a chicken in his hands.)    (New York City?) *

viagra

About that meeting yesterday in which President Trump was presented with an immigration proposal that everyone knew was the exact  opposite of what he wanted, no compromise on their part.    President Trump was impatient and angry at this obvious slap in the face.   Their  grandstanding.   Delay tactic.    Attempted attrition.

Then two anti-Trump people, who were not present at the meeting to hear anything, have reported to two anti-Trump “news” reporters who work for an anti-Trump newspaper their impression of what President Trump said.

som 3

Is that third degree hearsay?

Do you remember when the European report came out that the average, general IQ of people living in Somalia is 60?

Som 1

Somalia does not have a tradition of governing by a system of laws.  The only thing that is known in that country is rule by various Warlords.    It’s who you know and how well you can fight and dominate those who are not like you.

Plainly and fairly the President was questioning why a county must accept immigrants from countries that are so far away from Western European and American culture.

som 2

Because some countries are a real mess.    I would not use the words that came out of the mouths of those  anti-Trump people, but  truth is truth about Third World  countries where most of the people are victims.    Reality is reality.

Americans are not racist-  remember when we gave over a billion dollars to the victims of the earthquake in Haiti?   A Billion dollars.      A Billion  dollars to (mostly) Black people.

Oh, it didn’t get to the Haitian people –  nearly all of that money went to Mrs. Bill Clinton and her Clinton Foundation –  where it stayed.   The Haitian president is spitting mad whenever he hears her name.   I’m sure the Haitian people are wondering where their aid is too.

hai 4

Mrs. Bill Clinton has been heard using the “F” bomb frequently in her speaking. Derogatory, demeaning statements about people.    And all kinds of vile language when questioned about her actions,  like where the money for the Black people of Haiti went.

hai 3

Politics of Personal Destruction.    It’s not just a catchy phrase — it’s a policy of demeaning, dominating,  and destroying your political enemies.      Like the Warlords of Somalia.    The media is very helpful.     95% are rabidly anti-Trump.

It’s possible that the anti-Trump Sen. Durban  is too young to remember the language used by previous presidents (and certain first ladies).    But it is easy to find such vulgar language in many biographies of these former presidents (such as Kennedy,  Johnson,  Nixon, Clinton, and we  know about the  Barack-Hussein person even without a biography).

This woman needs help:

hai 1

She needs economic aid for her country.    Ask:  what is the purpose of a nation’s immigration policy?     Is there a nation?    Does a nation have a right to decide its own fate?  Its own characteristics?    Is this woman ready to add to the health of another nation?

The systems and cultures of some countries are not helpful to Western nations.   It has nothing to do with the color of the skin who live in those  cultures. — and most anti-Trumpers know that.

But they’re on a roll.  The anti-Trump media will repeat their story over and over and over again . . .  until something else distracts them.

If you smear the president with charges of racism,  maybe you can weaken his position so much that he’ll back down and do what you want him to do about immigration.

Maybe some of those anti-Trumpers should visit some  New York City areas:

nwe york city apts

. *   Here’s an open market in an immigrant section of NYC.   I’m sure you know what those goats are going to be used for.

I remember hearing a few years ago a New York City policeman talking – a couple of them in that interview, actually.    They said there are apartment buildings they don’t like to go into because they can hear the bleating of goats and the chickens inside those apartments,  ready for sacrifice,  the smell of blood . . .   and there was nothing they could lawfully do about it.     Voodoo.  Santeria.

Not your average cheerful Methodist social justice warriors in those apartments.

Chain migration.    Whole families and extended families allowed to . . .  invade.

(And why does the United Nations think it can mandate that every Western nation must accept large numbers of people from anywhere?   What is their motive?   What does the United Nations have against European and American  nations? )

We’re not talking about Legal Migration,  are we?      The anti-Trumpers seem to be confused on that part.    They’ll switch back and forth as they argue. Makes compromise on their part nearly impossible.

So the entertainment-news media has created some ammunition today.

And I’m ranting back at them.

ADVENT’S STATE OF THE WORLD – CHURCH DISSOLUTION

December 7, 2017

Another data dump posting –  I must clean up all the waiting stories on my PC!

December 6th:

3 gold balls

Most in Christendom used to know what these three gold balls have to do with the date Dec. 6.        (So much information has been [deliberately]  withheld from modern people!)

Many centuries ago, a good Christian man was persecuted, pursued, beaten, and threatened,  but courageously held fast to his Christian faith.    He  eventually became  a bishop in the Church, wise and good and full of compassion.   Contemporary accounts tell of his saving of three unmarried girls of a very poor family who faced a future of being sold into slavery or prostitution, as was the custom of that pagan day when a family did not have enough money for their dowries.

st nick beloved bishop

As each came to marriageable age,  Bishop Nicholas of Myra in Lycia secretly tossed a bag of gold into the house of the three young women,  thereby making it possible for them to marry with a decent dowry.

The three gold balls which we find on the signs of pawn shops, then, remind us of the generosity and kindness of St. Nicholas,  whose Feast Day is December 6th.    And of caring and giving that arises naturally from the heart of true Christians.

True Christians.  True Christianity.

A slap in the face

There is another thing St. Nicholas is remembered for:  As always,  the Church has had to fight enemies without and enemies within.    Heresies and heretics have always risen up to dilute the teaching of the Church.

“So then, brothers and sisters, stand firm and hold fast to the teachings we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter.”   (written by St. Paul,  II Thessalonians 2:15)   “Whether by word of mouth”  (that would be oral traditions, not written down in the Bible);   “or by letter” (that would be words of the New Testament and other early letters and sermons).

What happens when an official of the Church does not “hold fast” to the teachings that are supposed to be handed down?

Well, when St. Nicholas confronted the stubborn heretic Bishop Arius who continued to teach heresy, even at the great Council of Nicaea,  he slapped Bishop Arius in the face –  in a public affirmation of the heretical teaching!

“Is the pope Catholic?”

Ha ha ha  ha not.     Used to be a joke because the answer was so obvious.   Today, not so much.    Everyone, Catholics,  Catholic   bishops,  leaders of other religions,   and some heads of states are asking publicly what’s wrong with the present pope?

This has happened before, with a pope or a group of bishops turning away from the teachings of the Church,  but it always produces confusion and dismay, turmoil, uncertainty;  more seriously, a loss of souls.

HImmerod Abbey

Himmerod Abbey, West Germany.   Scarcely can we create a huge building like this today.    We do not have the will – and perhaps no longer the knowledge.   After existing for 900 years,  it is now abandoned and most likely will be torn down.   Demolished.   Unused. Unneeded.      Loss of souls.

A symbol of the slow dissolution the Catholic Faith.

“When (I)  the Son of Man returns,  do you think He will find faith (left)   on Earth?”  asked by Jesus, recorded in Luke 18:8.

Maybe.

But we don’t get to define our own version of faith.

Everywhere in the Western World,  there are savage attacks against the symbols of Christian faith.     In Belgium,  the Red Cross can no longer use the symbol of the cross of Jesus.     Belgium’s  Red . . . , I guess.

in France, the statue of a modernist pope who helped deconstruct the traditional Catholic Faith may stand in its public place – but the cross now  has to be taken down.

Here’s a “before”  photo.

Cross No Pope Yes

But what’s happening internally among Catholics –  the Catholics-in Name-Only?    This is a most important question because sometimes in history it was only the lay people, ordinary Christians, who “held fast” to the traditional teachings handed down from the Apostles II Thessalonians 2:15 again.

Sometimes it is lay people who must wake up!,  stand up,  slap some faces (so to speak), and promote and demand  the spiritual and moral teachings that made the Western World great and strong:

decent m ovies

Ordinary people, demanding decent movies.

Ordinary people,  We the People,  we the lay people,  people of faith –  people who know our culture was safe and stable when Christian principles aided government policies.    (Not merely a “movie”  issue.)

Church dissolution is very real and quite advanced today,  crime is rising;  greed, bribery, and deception run the economy;   crime, greed, bribery, deception, and lust seem to motivate our political leaders;   fear and distrust grow among people in general.  Cultural Marxism has demolished all the good points of our history, leaving us disoriented and weakened, without heroes and role models.

Church dissolution has consequences.

It also has a remedy –  us –  but as Jesus asked:    “When I come back,  will I find faith anymore?”

Bar Cross in middle

Such is the uncertain State of the World without Christian faith.

November 6, 2017

(Super talkative, unrestrained-in-the-morning  thoughts.  Just skip down to the two quote boxes to get the gist.)

athens

It’s a matter of politics to try to keep a civil society stable, beneficial, correcting wrongs, making improvements; protecting against those movements which ultimately tear at families and break down a civil society. I do respect people who find politics their calling for these reasons.

Many work towards, those ends; but increasingly more have an agenda that works against those good ends.  Senator Rand Paul, for instance who is recovering today from five broken ribs because because many people in this country care not about their country’s good, but about their own agenda, country be damned; and that makes them strident, arrogant, and sometimes violent.    I don’t know about each of Senator Paul’s ideas, but I know his is a life dedicated to improving our nation.

if I am ever asked whether I am “Right” or “Left” or “Liberal” or “Conservative,”   I would probably groan (inaudibly) and frown, and look all thoughtful; and after a moment maybe my reply would be a disappointed:    “Ohhhh,  do you really want to go back to the French Revolution? Do you really want to use those archaic categories? They have become a cheap shot; lazy thinking obscuring today’s realities.”

fr revSitting on the left and sitting on the right

Leftistl/Democrat?   Right/Republican?  These have no meaning now after the  dialectic process has translated those two terms into: Socialist (Democrat) on one side  and Socialist Lite (Republican) on the other, both political parties drawing people into worldwide Global Socialism/Communism which, whatever label you give it, simply means a totalitarian control of the whole world.

(See Nimrod)  (Or see Napoleon, who thought he could do it.)     (Or see Hitler, who was sure he could do it.) .

Maybe you’d want to more accurately ask if I am a Gramsci-ite Progressive or if I am  an Independent political thinker:   pragmatic and people-oriented, rather than State-oriented. Our American Constitution gave us a shot at this: independent and uniquely created individual people, free to be creative and hard-working in the pursuit of their own choices in this world and free to walk humbly before God in preparation for their journey to the next world.

My favorite song? “Don’t Fence Me In.”

Nearly all Young People have never even read the book 1984, nor studied it to understand the warnings therein.     Not that their Leftist schools and universities would want these young people to ever, EVER understand books like 1984 and Homage to Catalonia     That would be so  . . .  so  . . .   un-Orwellian.    Thinking about Orwell’s writing would require independent thinking and the “hard work”  of intellectual analysis.

I was reading a foreign newspaper about the recent Texas church shooting, and I also read down into the Comment Box. Certain people could not understand why Americans could not just “all come together as a country and stop bickering about what we should do next. “Can’t we all get along?” (Teddy bears and flowers . . . and smile more.)   Why do we have to debate every issue?   Isn’t that . . . “divisive”?   Shouldn’t we all be united under one common( political) goal?

Then I saw this comment by some who calls himself “No One In  Particular,”  but he had a great comment on those who would restrict free and independent debate:

We are United by the Document on which this country was founded, the United States Constitution. We are fully allowed, and even encouraged, to disagree. (Amendment 1) We are also allowed, as in not prohibited from, ownership of firearms. (Amendment 2) This individual was not supposed to be able to purchase a firearm as he was disqualified from such by due process (Read: court of law). The fact that he made that purchase, through a Sporting Good Store, mind you, is an oversight that should not have happened. The squabbling that happens in the U.S. is 100% okay. If it truly bothers you, ignore it and never “pop across the pond,: sir.

There can be no debating if people are so willing to jump up and say you shouldn’t say what you want to say, that’s not “correct”!   In this politically-charged world it’s upsetting to the hypnotic dream state created by the Leftist agenda.   It’s not politically correct.

I hope we begin to look at the quality of public discourse in this whole nation. I hope those independent thinkers who have something of value to say will speak out against the suppression of public discourse. A poll recently proclaimed its findings: More than half the people in this country do not speak out because they are afraid of the consequences.

Poll: 71% of Americans Say Political Correctness Has Silenced Discussions Society Needs to Have, 58% Have Political Views They’re Afraid to Share  (from Cato . . org Oct. 31, 2017)

Yeah, well they killed Socrates for it too. I’d hoped we are beyond that.
“Do not go gentle into that good . . .” etc. etc.

A HERO WE SHOULD KNOW

October 4, 2017

(We Americans are thinking of shootings lately – and specifically of guns.)

“It has come to my attention,”  as they say,  that our entertainment-news media did not cover Sunday’s shooting (of ten days ago).      I heard people say they hadn’t heard anything about it.

Nearly every Sunday Christians are a great risk when they go to church, and somewhere in the world they are likely to be killed while attending their services.   Ten days ago it was the turn of Christians in America.

2 Burnette Church violence

Nice, ordinary looking church in Antioch, Tennessee.   Not the kind of church I go to, but that’s all right.  They are nice, God-fearing people, going about their business on a Sunday morning.

This man didn’t go to the Burnette Church of Christ in Antioch, Tennessee, but he did visit it a couple times.

2 EManuel Samson

He is from Sudan,  but was brought to America as a refugee twenty years ago.   He didn’t “assimilate”  well.

Body builder 1 j

Thought of himself as a real strong guy in the gym.

body builder 2 j

He was very proud of his body on his Facebook pages, but he wrote some strange words there;   maybe power words, something about not being a created thing but being the creator.

body builder 3

He was planning . . .       I don’t know what he’s doing here . . .      He had been in training . . . .

So he came to the church ten days ago with a loaded gun and killed  a woman in the parking lot and then opened the door of the church and began firing more.     Seven people were shot.

What stopped him?    A young man named Robert Engle,  22 years old,  rushed him and struggled with him.  The young man was pistol-whipped, but kept on struggling.   The gunman –  whose name is Emanuel Samson – took a bullet from his own gun.

While the gunman was down,  the young man ran out to his car where he had kept his own – legally-obtained, legally-licensed –  handgun.    He ran back in with his handgun, and  pointed it at Samson,  holding him at bay until the police came.

Robert Engle had a handgun and a concealed carry permit, and he was trained on how to use it.     He is being hailed as a hero by the congregation and by the local police, because he was ready and able to stop a horrible tragedy from becoming much worse.

I think we should at least hear about him – and give him a Hat’s Off.

THE PEOPLE OF LAS VEGAS

October 2, 2017

The people of Las Vegas can one day look back on these days with satisfaction and encouragement even as their grief continues.

We see nothing but mutual comfort and aid, compassion and  sympathy  that is proven by   courage under fire as they helped each other,   protected each other, offering their own blood to those who lost so much of their own.

As the crowd was hiding and  running away as best they could,  the first responders,  the policemen!,  were running towards the gunfire.    The people of Las Vegas can look upon their officials with pride and gratitude.

Some of the facts are known.    Many questions are yet unanswered.    President Trump articulated what I and many Americans were thinking in his speech on Monday, so I don’t   need to give my opinion.

Our Leftist entertainment-news media practically applauded the act, mocking the character and voting habits they supposed the audience of a country music festival would have and  hoping that the Trump supporters among the audience would be the ones to die.

We’re eager to find out what this man’s motivation could have been.

I hope we also try to discover what has become of the moral climate of our country to allow even the possibility of an American mass murderer to act.  Several decades ago when I was in school,  some of my friends took their guns or rifles to school for after-school meetings of the ROTC.   One time I asked my friend if he played saxophone.  He said,  “No.”      Then he opened up his case and showed me his rifle.

The moral climate was different then.     The character  of the American people was different then.

If it can bend one way,  can it bend back the other way?

LOYALTY SENSE

“Ethnonational secessionism or global hegemony” — remember that phrase.  I’m going to use it in a minute.

(No photos, I think.  This is an interior thought from me and is a recording, for me,  of a snapshot in the timeline of world history.)

______________________________________

“Blood is thicker than water.”     When it comes down to the most fundamentally,  extreme basics of life – your family is instinctively your first point of reference.      (There aren’t as many extremely dysfunctional families or self-loathing families as the entertainment-news media would have us believe.)

Normal people are rather loyal to their own families.   Grandparents, parents,  sisters,   brothers, children, and grandchildren.    And then cousins . . .   etc.

I grew up in the ’50s and the pre-radicalized ’60s.   (Never mind how old that makes me:  I’m not really that old.)  It was Chicago, and my home was in the midst of various ethnic groups:   Irish,  German,  Italian, Polish, and Mexican primarily, with a few outliers like me,  a Swede-Finn.     After a few curious questions like “What nationality are you?”  or  “Were your parents born in America?”  we went on with our lives, our school, our play, without any further thought or even awareness of our “differences.”   We went home at night to our various-language speaking homes.

Once Cultural Marxism took over and became the dominant philosophy presented to us in movies,  television, radio, and magazines,   we were taught to think that differences made a  . . .  difference.    Somehow.

A big surprise in the ’70s came when I read a sociological study that concluded that “People are happier when they are living in neighborhoods made up of primarily their own kind.”    One race likes to live among people of its own same race.   One ethnic group is happier living with people of its own familiar ethnic group.   Et cetera.

That seemed like common sense,  evidenced by my own observations from a pre-radicalized American culture.

Blood is thicker than water.   You are happiest among your own familiar  “kind” of people.

How hard it is to write those words today – and not feel defensive.

But there is nothing wrong with feeling patriotic and loyal to your culture even if it’s made up of many ethnic groups.    “America”  defines a culture with citizens of one common set of values.     It is worth our heartfelt  loyalty.

As a history major in the universities I attended,  I saw how evil ethnic cleansing is,  and genocide,   and granting privilege to one ethnic group or another.  One of the biggest causes of unrest in the world —   small wars,  skirmishes, guerilla warfares, armed revolutions,  civil wars —  is the deliberate creation of artificial  national boundaries,  breaking up families and tribes and ethnic groups into arbitrary political alignments.

Tribes just want to get back together again.   Clans and families want to live together.

As I’ve returned from my  rather long vacation and returned to reading world events,  I see so many areas of the world on the verge of civil war for just this very reason.   The Kurds want their own country,  their own national boundaries.  They do NOT want live across four or five other “nations”  created in the Middle East.

The Catalans want their own region back, under their own local control.    (Even though it’s been a few hundred years since they were annexed into Spain.)   Ditto the Basques.

Many  ( a majority?) of  Ukrainians speak and feel and identify as Russian.   Why do the NATO nations want the Ukraine?      Why should they?

Africa is one big political and cultural mess of forcibly moved ethnic groups,  with Leftist governments desperately trying to keep control through any tyrannical and murderous means they can use, starvation being a very effective tool.

China is trying to take back (or take over)  an area of northern India, closest to them.   They’re close to succeeding.   400,000 refugees in “relief” camps;  50 dead this summer.

China and the Uighurs.

Burma.   The Philippines.   Southern Russia.  Chechens.  India  (Darjeeling tea, anyone?)

If you are well-informed,  you get the picture and you’ll be able to see an overview, draw some useful conclusions.

This is the picture of Ethno-Seccessionism —  ethnic groups wanting to secede from the national state that is now governing them.

What is holding them back?    What force is opposing them?   Why cannot people live in peace among their own families, clans, tribes, and ethnic groups?

It breaks my heart that people can’t.

What’s stopping them?     It is the diabolically strong force of Global Hegemony.    The opposing Force wants control of —  everything!  And everyone.    to do that It must break down boundaries, barriers,  loyalties,  identities, blur differences, and absorb all.     It must have Global Control,  Global Hegemony over everything and everyone.

And this motivation is one of the driving forces behind the deliberate promotion of ethnic groups being “migrated” into foreign countries, where they don’t match the culture,  where they are not willing to be assimilated,  where they do not respect the citizens already there.

Civil wars, unrest, agitations result, today, from this clash of Ethnocentric Secessionism and Global Hegemony.

Who do you want to be?      Who do you identify with?    Who are you and your family safer with?

Local control or an inhuman, “efficient” Big Brother machine?     Power makes on hungry for more Power.

Check also the book of Revelation in the Bible –  chapter 13.  ( “Beast” is just a way of expressing the Force behind this growing Global Hegemony.)     If it’s seen in the bible, does that mean it’s inevitable?

BICYCLE SENSE

September 13, 2017

Maybe you guys understand this,  but I sure don’t:

Why do perfectly good, well-inflated tires go flat if you don’t use your bicycle for a few months . . .  or a year?

Bike sense

You can’t just “take out your bike”  when the timing is right.

And why do the little caps on the tires where you put the air in become so much impossibly tighter to the very same fingers that tightened the cap in the first place?

I’m the one who tightened them;  I should be able to take them off.

But,  oh-h-h-h-,     it was worth all the fuss.  Until I get new Rollerblades,  being high on wheels   is a wonderful feeling.

Here in the Far North we’ve had high overcast clouds with heavy misty rain this morning;  followed by a band of bright sunshine, wherein I could ride my bike;  and soon now, developing,  another band of high overcasty clouds which will surely rain down a fine, heavy mist onto us.

FOURTH SHORTS – Two Sets of Rules

July 4, 2017

A short little observation since I’ve had some  free time to get caught up on news reading  . . .

Although this is old news.

________________________________________

We cannot have Rulers over us if there is only one set of rules.     Rulers don’t obey our rules.    This is the Fourth of July  —  and yet our Rulers think we will obey without question.

jRulers say J

“You must NOT build that wall.”

(That wall that would reduce the steady stream of invaders across our southern border.)

“But I can.”

O Wall

It seems our Rulers and we,  both,   understand the word “protection.”

flag

The  ideals of America offer equal protection before the Law.

The  promise of America  is  that all are treated equally,  even those who have been elected to office to serve for a time.

It’s not just a matter of political concern  that we’ve been too easy-going to preserve our freedoms.   It’s a religious matter as well.   “Spiritual,”  if you prefer.   Just as we are all brothers because we have the same Father,   so is it true that all of us will be judged by the same God and Father of us all,  in the same Judgment,  by the same measure.

That is true equality.

That is true integrity:  living your civil life as you do your spiritual life.

Anything less is insanity.

MONDAY, TUESDAY, THURSDAY, WEDNESDAY . . .

Yes:   –  in the immortal words of Apollonia Corleone,   the short-lived wife of Michael Corleone:        “Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Wednesday . . .”

This is Tuesday.  Apparently.    When the normal activities of the weekdays are suspended,  every day seems like a weekend day.  Hence, my abortive trip to Sunday morning Mass – last Friday.

empty church 2

Our young lady friend is off her ventilator, finally, and out of the ICU.   She is better, but still has a long way to go.     I’m spending less time at the hospital,  more time on my new (and rather demanding) classes for the summer.    I need to do so well with that topic . . . .

Yet, I haven’t really caught up with Time.  That takes some effort.    How I would like to slide into that state of Perpetual Retirement,  where the only activities are occasional voluntary activities.

But I have promises to keep,    And miles to go before I sleep.”  *

Speaking of which,  I could use a little snow.    I’ve resurfaced into a heat wave, with a long string of near 90-degree temperatures and almost daily thunderstorms, which menace my electronics.

sad tv.jpg 70x90   I’ve also checked into what the entertainment-news media is going on about.    Same thing.   Same words. Same people.  Same accusations.    Same minor terrorist strikes here and there.  Same perplexities about what to do . . . .  Missing a week and a half has not resulted in any developments.    The world does not need my attention!

This discovery needs my attention:

Slant Tree.jpg 380

That’s my front yard.

S My house.jpg 380

Apparently we had a wind storm this weekend.

Son will know what to do.

It’s apparently going to take some time to return to normal.   Me, that is.  I’m coming out of these past almost two weeks a little shaken.    It was a life-and-death matter, after all, to watch a young lady have to fight for her life – with no definite diagnosis that started it all.   And then to worry anew about the state of her soul and of  my childrens’  souls . . . .  And my own efforts seem weak next to the consequences of getting it wrong.

And, yes, I still studied in my spare moments.  I studied  Gramschi, again;     Herbert Marcuse,  Wilhelm Reich – you probably know where I’m going with this:   the stunning victory of cultural marxism, over our society.     In the Catholic Church this is called:  The Errors of Russia.   Although it didn’t begin with the Russian Revolution,  it nevertheless points to Error,  the kind that will separate you from God – forever.

Frankfort School

“Critical Theory”:   Criticize everything;  demonize the cultural norms;  break down society so that it can be replaced with the Slavery of Marxist-Liberalism – because the State is  more important than the individual.  The atheistic State is more important than your immortal soul.

I’m a bit shaken with that realization.     The realization of the complete and utter victory of cultural marxism over the society my children and grandchildren have to live in.   What chance to they have?

What chance do they have to even learn about it, after years of schooling in an apparent  marxist – liberal environment of anti-intellectualism,  anti-analytical thinking,   anti-objective reality,  anti-logic, anti-truth — and the Any Glass theory:  Any glass will do it for you when you’re thirsty.  (No right and wrong, no moral norms, no “judgmental” thinking.)

Apparently, I have a lot of catching up to do.     (Why was I made with this impulse to teach?   I don’t know.    It’s my duty;  it’s what I am.)    I have a lot of catching up in my studies to do.     It’s the only way I can be of use to my classes,  to my family and  friends     . . .   to God.

Crash course for me this summer.    Cramming again.    Not for final exams,  but so I can be a better parent,  a better teacher,   a better blog writer.

Stopping by The Woods One Snowy Evening

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.
My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.
He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound’s the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.
The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

“DEATH BY A THOUSAND CUTS”

June 5, 2017

(Note:  The “death by a thousand cuts”  usually means a person suffers insult after insult,  slight after slight,   and people wonder “When is that person going to say “Enough!”  ?)

Here’s a little humor (thanks to my Far Far North cousin):

Coffee gone

Funny, huh?

Well, maybe not if you’re a coffee pot and your life blood had just been drained out of you.     Mugged!!   Little by little!     Anyone can usually survive a mugging or two, as long as it doesn’t continue.

I think I was a girl of thirteen years old  (too young;  too big an imagination!) when I first discovered that the phrase:  “Death by a thousand cuts”  really referred to a horrendous, horrifying method of torture used by the Chinese many hundreds of years ago.     Western explorers who escaped wrote of this in their diaries.

cutting knife

Mug by mug   —    I mean cut by cut . . .  anyone can survive a cut or two, or even one or two hundred;   but  I think it was a several day process before death released the victim.     The victim is tied down tight,  because any sane man would run;  fight back;  maybe come after these torturers with a small army.

But not sing songs to them of peace and love.    Not apologize for our borders –

Katy Person       –  as this Katy-Person did recently.    Apparently her recent words of wisdom after the killings in London were that we should look at our neighbors, hold their hands, and tell them we love them.

Peace.  Love.   And more teddy bears and flowers.  To quote my Dad’s favorite phrase:  “Oh,  for goodness’ sakes!”

Oh for goodness sakes

Our hands are somehow being tied and we are suffering thousands of little cuts – and you know  it’s daily, if you read newspapers from around the world.   Big cuts and little cuts,   it’s still death to the victim.

Someone cried out “Fight terrorism, not Tr um p!”    Maybe the entertainment-news media in the Western World and the “elected” politicians  should temporarily put aside their mission to   Ta ke Do wn Tr um p    and instead focus on the  mission of our enemy,  which is to “take down”  us.    (As they’ve stated so often — especially now during Ramadan when murder and mayhem is encouraged — by imams from many locations.  I know.   I’ve got one of those about 90 miles from here.  I’m not going to put his crazed, hate-filled face in this blog,   but he’s one of many calling for our deaths.)

These two entities,   politicians and media, protect, obscure, and cover up the intents of the radical-islamists.

Apparently, the CNN information outlet has attempted to portray the murderous Muslims in London as an aberration and “most Muslims”  would be outraged at the killings and injuries that “these few” accomplished.  CNN printed out special signs of peace-and-love  for “peaceful Muslims”  to hold up in front of their cameras.

It took them a while to recruit a few Muslim by-standers — what are you going to do?   There weren’t many who would publicly denounce what had just happened. CNN found about eight. . . .

Signs 1

Well,  that didn’t look like a very big “protest.”

So CNN  moved this little group to another location.   (Notice pink pants . . .)

Signs 2

They look rather . . .   stone-faced and uncommitted.     No “outraged”  expressions on their faces.

But CNN had to make it look like there were anti-violence protests all over the city!   The same group of people in yet another location:

Signs 3

Sorry for blurry.   The signs say:  “Turn to Love.”     “Love will win.”   “ISIS will lose.”    Uh-huh;  mmm-hmmmm.       Rah Rah – not.

Nations all over the world are experiencing daily attacks,   big ones, little ones,  big cuts, little cuts.    Death by a thousand cuts –  when will we say  “Enough!”   ??

I guess it’s not when we see our nation threatened,  our culture threatened,  our freedoms threatened.   Maybe when we feel personally threatened.

Because so far altruism and empathy seems to be dormant.

The victim is tied down tight,  because any sane man would run;  fight back;  maybe come after these torturers with a small army.

“The victim is tied down,”    immobilized,  mind and body;   misinformed

“any sane man would run,”         if he’s not suicidal

“fight back,”     fight back when threatened with death of ourselves, our cultures,  if we love ourselves and our cultures

“with a small army”   —   it’s war.    They have declared war on us ( in those words)   but we do not declare war on them.

MEMORIAL DAY ENTERTAINMENT

May 29, 2017

Suggested.   Suggested entertainment for Memorial Day.      Because the republic of the United States of America cannot exist without truth and the courage to say the truth.

And so I heartily, absolutely recommend for this Memorial Day and the days that follow the series called  The Man in the High Castle.   It’s a series,  on television or something,  that you can get from Amazon Prime or maybe your library DVD collection –  or with a DVD purchase.

man flag

You’ll live in a world in which it’s best not to ask.  Don’t call attention to yourself.   Everything will be all right if you don’t make waves.  Don’t question what you hear on television or in movies or in the newspaper.     Your in-born Bias to Normalcy will help you stay content.

The premise of this series is that the Allies, including the United States lost  World War  Two,  and the governing of  our country is divided between the Nazi victors and the Japanese victors.

man new world

Our country has been broken up now for several decades:  a Nazi controlled East,  a Japanese controlled West, and a kind of no-man’s land in between, somewhere between Colorado and Montana.

Except . . .

The Secret behind this arrangement is that America did NOT lose the world,  but instead, for the sake of our Rulers,  through an efficient and skillful use of deception,  it only appears that way –  in the entertainment-news media.   People are kept in poverty and in ignorance to maintain the deception.

There are a few secret news reels that still exist  that show the Germans and the Japanese surrendering to the Allies — hard to believe! —   but Americans must never know about them.    But some – renegades – are beginning to believe these news reels tell the truth.    And their suppression by the authorities is ruthless.

man logo

We remember today  those who fought and died for our country.   They believed in Truth, Justice, and the American Way.    By and large.   Their children pledge allegiance to  “One Nation Under God.”     We treasure our Freedom.

But all this is so fragile.   It is almost an aberration in world history.   In times of War we fight hard to uphold our values, but times of Peace and Prosperity attack us.

Peace attacks our values.

Prosperity attacks us.

We let our guard down.  We fight no more  We are vigilant no more.   We are on guard no more.

And those who would like to have our country know how to efficiently use deception,  the collusion of the media,  and skillful  psychological methods to confuse us.   Those who would like to Rule over us give us  a new narrative to think with.    History is rewritten.   The game is slowly changed.

Suppression of the old ways is accomplished with ridicule,  isolation,  demonization, and threats,   subtle and sometimes overt.    Economic pressure;  you can lose your job.    And then the lawsuits start.   Fines,  Imprisonments.

The antidote is knowledge.  Certainly not easy to come by!    Awareness doesn’t just drop out of your remote and onto your lap.

Our Founding Fathers said that the continuance of our republic depends upon two things:  an informed electorate and a religious, moral citizenry.

The republic didn’t continue in the Man in the High Castle – and it cost many lives to attempt to get it back.

BEND AND BOW AND BU-U-U-U-RN!

May 22, 2017

(Ever read the book of Daniel in the Bible?)

Hey!  How about a rousing  two minutes of Gospel music!!!!

Well, the song tells you the story,  but in case you didn’t have patience to listen to it,  long ago  three young men were arrested  because they wouldn’t bow down to the culture’s god,    nor would they bend their knee,  so they were thrown into a fiery hot furnace (so hot that the king’s servants who fired it up were themselves killed by the heat) .    Well, the three young men wouldn’t burn either –  they were protected by a Fourth Man sent from the One True God  who kept them from burning,  from even being singed,  from even having the smell of smoke on them!

“They wouldn’t bend, they wouldn’t bow, they wouldn’t burn.”

Courage.   Truth.   Hope in God alone.

In the last post I contrasted the reception of two presidents in their trips to Saudi Arabia.   I noted that one president did bow to the Sunni king.

Barack Obama, Hu Jintao

Oh,  that’s different  Muslim leader . . . .

Obama Bow Copenhagen

Another Muslim leader . . . . fuzzy.   At a Copenhagen meeting of world leaders.

Here we are – bowing to a Saudi Sunni Muslim . .  .

O bowing again

Here’s the one we want:

Obama bow - Copy

Saudi.   Sunni.   Islam.

We have the school registration of this president.   He was raised as a Muslim,  enrolled in a Muslim school,  and learned his religion and how to get along in this world by studying the Koran.      The young boy in Malaysia learned how to respect the Sunni religion and its representatives.    (You bow.)

As an adult he stated  (it’s recorded on video)  thatThe most beautiful sound in the world is the sound of the muezzin calling out to evening prayer,”  (in which prayers to their god are chanted in classical Arabic).

Beautiful to his ears.

In case you’re wondering:\

ObamaIndonesia school regist.jpg circled

Legal Name:  Barry Soetoro

Previous Residence:   Honolulu

Present Residence:  Indonesia

Religion:   Islam

(By the way,  Islam does not allow for apostatizing to non-Muslim religions.)

So,  one man bowed.   But the other man  “bended.”   —

Trump nt bowing

There’s nothing wrong with being a Sunni Muslim  in this world.    And  there’s nothing wrong with being TALL.   It’s much easier for an older man to put a medallion of honor around your neck if you bend down for him –  that’s courtesy of a different kind.

Every once in a while it used to come up in my daughter’s  concert band which traveled abroad:  “What do you do if you are introduced to someone from some royal family?”   (Answer:  You’re an American.   You shake hands, if such royal hand is offered to you.  Otherwise, you stand politely and respectfully.   After the American Revolution was won,  American citizens do NOT bow – or bend – or hopefully  not “burn” !)

Please,  my readers,  don’t let anyone blur the difference between a bow and a  bending down so someone can slip something over your neck.    Use your own intellect.  Make honest distinctions.

JOY AND TRAGEDY OF A 24-YEAR OLD

May 17, 2017

(Turning serious, now, because it’s Wednesday. )

Wednesday 1.jpg Wednesday.  Our culture calls it “hump day,”  a term I don’t like,  but on some Wednesdays I write about the big “hump”  the Western World has to face, and to get up and over it,  or more “Joys”  will turn to “Tragedies.”

We have to face some differences.

______________________________________

There is nothing more joyful than watching  a 24- year old young man — (in general, of course) – – reaching the prime of his life,  the prime of his strength,  the prime of his self-confidence,  optimism, courage, self-assurance.  He’s so “full of himself” !!     Bursting with life.  And fun.       (Another reason why mothers have gray hairs.)

conga fun bl wh

It was with my young, approximately 24-year old Hubbie that I danced on a table in a German bar,  and we all danced the Conga, right out the door, into the parking lot,  and back in through the kitchen, snatching up kitchen staff as we passed through.

Oh, wait.  We didn’t do it in black and white:

conga 1

More like this.   In fact,   I was wearing a tiny dress like that which I had made – out of one yard of brightly colored material!     (Very long blonde hair covered the rest of me.)   Hubbie had fun too.   He eventually “matured” and life went on.

Ein prosit!!

ein prosit

A 24-year old man should feel young and joyful and full of life.  He has much to learn, and he needs all that courage and strength for the life that is coming to him.   He must mature and begin to help solve the serious problems  of the adult world.   He must soon know that some 24-year olds don’t live in a free and joyful culture.

______________________________________

It’s  different in a Different World.    Some 24-year olds are busy trying to escape their World:

sign says for sale

Here are young men;  told to wait out there in the blazing sun.    The white sign above them, the one with the Arabic letters,  says:  “For sale.”     Those young men are for sale.    In the Islamic world,  slavery exists.

One 24-year old escaped his captors, after physical hardship and torture, and he, Muhammed Yusuf,  was able to report this to people from the Western World.

As a matter of fact, although slavery has existed everywhere from the beginning of written history,  it was only in the Western World,  the Western hemisphere and Western Europe,  that people worked hard to abolish slavery.   The popes first called for its abolition from the 16th century  onward,  until finally it became a serious movement and men of European heritage — that would be Caucasian (white)  Christian people — finally enacted laws abolishing slavery in their lands.

The (Christian) Western World is a world apart from the Islamic world.

They have different values from each other.

Every day now I read of one or more attacks by “extremists”  against people of the Western cultures.   Here’s one that appeared in the news just today:

catedral-mexico_Muslim-attacker

This young man in his mid-20s is being detained on a cathedral floor, just after he has stabbed a priest in the neck, as the priest was saying Mass.   Mexico  City.    The young man is a Muslim.

A Different World.    They do not respect what we respect.

A few days ago we heard that Bin Laden’s son has declared Revenge on the Western World,  us,  and has called for our murder.

Meat Cleaver

Anytime.  Anyplace.

They do things differently.   It’s a Different World.

I wonder sometimes why the full implications of these differences do not motivate us more.

But our government (through the entertainment-news media)  has given us a vocabulary that emphasizes a false sense of  Sameness,  obscuring deadly differences.

Our schools – and there are plenty of examples –  are teaching our children to accept the ‘differences”  that come from a Different World.

San Diego Pub Schls

These are California schoolchildren, learning that all worlds are “equal”  and “diversity”  means Sameness.

Leaders in government don’t seem to realize there are two Different Worlds.

Trudeau among worshipers

Here is the young leader of our neighbor to the north seriously practicing Sameness with the Muslims.

And tragically,  those leaders who should be teaching us the differences,  have just voted to welcome those adherents of Islam who are colonizing the Western World:

Toe the Mark Islam

As old as some of these men are,  they do not appear to have been given a classical Western education, or at least they have  rejected Classical education and are therefore unable to make intellectual distinctions between one set of values and another.

Appalling and deadly ignorance.    They cannot tell victims  of persecution from the Colonizers.      They call them all “refugees”  but accept only the Islamic ones.

Young men of military age from a Different World.

Poor Refugee

Call them refugees, but I don’t think they plan to assimilate into any Western nation that opens its doors to them.

TWO PERSPECTIVES

May 4, 2017

I’m into my third week of having no TV.   The system components are broken.  Or else all the HDMI ports are fried again.    Someone is going to come to fix the ports next week, and then I’ll be able to tell what else went wrong.

One gets a different perspective on the world without TV.

Here’s something I saw on my way in to class this evening:

Ducklings cr

Right downtown, in our little city which is the capital city of our state,  in busy traffic,  6:10 p.m.,   someone had gotten out of his car and stopped all traffic to allow this mother and her little ducklings to cross the street.   The streets were full, cars coming from all directions,  and yet no one even beeped their horns.   Lots of smiles and thumbs up to the man who was out there guiding those ducklings across the street.

It reminded me of how many “nice” people I see every time I drive in this area.   There are groups of people on the street,  men and women talking together,  men of different races carrying briefcases and walking together or discussing something on the street corner.   Race, age or sex,  it doesn’t seem to matter.    Rich people poor people;  people are just . . .  working together,  living next to each other.

It’s not like you see on the television entertainment-news.   Not like the Soros-funded staged “protest”  riots, protesting everyday American things.

I think there was an attempt at that this week, though.  On Monday,  our local news announced over and over again that there would be protest meetings and demonstrations on the capital lawn for – I forget what all, but one of them was the legalization of marijuana.

cap

Here’s our capital building,  just one block west of where those ducklings were.   When I heard about the scheduled “protests,”  I thought,  oh, oh,  I have to drive that way right in the middle of all that.    May Day protests – all around the world, the news said!!

Well, as I drove by,  I saw some people.  Maybe about 18, maybe a little more,  standing near those steps.   Didn’t look like much.  Less than a busload of schoolchildren gathering for a tour of the capitol building.

I’ve seen bigger crowds there, of course.  I was part of really big rally once.    That crowd was concerned and alert, but friendly and peaceful.  When one young man waved a poster and shouted out some bad language in imitation of what he’d seen on television,  people around him formed a circle and one man said, “We don’t do things like that here.”   The circle kind of edged toward the side of the capitol lawn and the young man “dispersed” himself and walked away.

Without television programming and “news,”  I forget we’re supposed to be a “divided” nation on the brink of civil war.     That’s not what I see when I look around me, at my neighborhood,  my town,  our little capital city.    It’s not what I see when I drive cross-country through many other little towns and cities.

We have problems, of course, and sometimes local politics get “hot,”  but you win some, you lose some,  and you come back to fight another day.    We don’t destroy our political opponents.

So what’s real life?   Raging cities,  burning, rioting cities?   Or everyday life,  like I see most commonly,  wherever I go?    I wonder about that.

As long as it lasts,   these days are okay.   We can work to solve our problems.

I hope the hyped-up drama we see on television doesn’t produce a new reality.

winking
(I hope I didn’t melt any Snowflakes in that previous posting )

I really was just musing about how important that “warrior” spirit is to building up and maintaining a  ccivilization.      Included in that term “warrior spirit”  is a very high system of ethics and morality,  without which warriors would devolve into barbaric free-for-alls.   Might makes right, etc.

In a nice serendipitous point on our calendar,  we are directed today to look at St. Gontran.   I never heard of him.  (Or I probably read about him before as I cycle through the yearly saints – I simply don’t remember him.)

St Gontran de Bourgpgne
In that last post,   I had just referenced my study of Merovingian kings,  and here is one for today!    Gontran was the son of that first great Merovingian king,  Clovis, a pagan Frankish warrior  who converted to his wife’s Christianity to save his life in battle  and then went on, with God’s help,  to establish a stable Frankish kingdom which contributed to the development of Western Civilization as we  know knew it.

His son, Gontran, was raised Catholic from  birth and probably had an even  better understanding of Christianity than his father.    He was devoted to Christ,  and when grown was given the land of Bourgogne to rule,  that is,  the big area we call Burgundy,  which played such an important role in our  history.

St Gontran king of lotsA dignified and respected leader, King Gontran

Although King Gontran has an interesting biography,  I’ll just give you this partial  summary   from  Butler’s . . .  “The prosperity of his reign,  both in peace and in war,  condemns those who think that human policy cannot be modeled by the maxims of the Gospel,  whereas, in reality,  nothing can render a government more flourishing.  . . .  He was the protector of the oppressed and a tender parent of his subjects.     He gave the greatest attention to the sick.   He fasted, prayed, wept, and offered himself to God night and day  . . .    He was a severe punisher of crimes . . .   and by many wholesome regulations he restrained the barbarous licentiousness of his troops.”   He lived to 68 years of age, after reigning for 31 years –  a great long life span!

Note that this freedom from the godless barbarism of the day came with the application of the Christian notion of the warrior of high moral conscience.   Fighting for what is right.      Only a people who are willing to be free and who are willing to defend their freedom will be free.

Now, today,  as we saw,  that warrior spirit is on beer bottle labels.    Or we put our warriors in the land of make-believe and give them  imaginary, unrealistic and superhuman faculties, confining them to  movies or games.     If  warrior spirits dare to emerge in elementary schools,  we suspend those young boys.   Even if their “weapon” is a munched-on Pop-Tart!  College males go around apologizing for who they are.   We’re content to come home from work or school,  kick off our shoes,  and rest in an electronically induced somnolence, while our Rulers silently consolidate their power over us.

deep

Again,  freedom isn’t free.   Freedom didn’t come to us for free.    “The price of freedom is eternal vigilance.”   Not just a sentimental phrase from history.  And though we don’t know for sure who first stated it,  the truth of the matter is that  we won’t keep our freedom without paying a price.     Perhaps we only need to pay attention – and do our duty appropriate to our station in life and to the circumstances around us.

Perhaps we’ll be called on to do more.

Not necessarily with battle-axe and sword.

So,  I’m not sure,   but it would seem that  if a  foreign “warrior spirit”  threatens our freedoms or even our very existence, . . .

Slay and Butcher

. . .    then it ought to be matched by an equal or great warrior spirit coming from us.

Unless our culture is suicidal.

History will record . . . .

WEDNESDAY: WHAT THE HUMP IS

March 15, 2017

I hate that term  “hump day” to refer to that middle day of the workweek.;  it seems slightly  “not nice.”    Nevertheless,   I understand,    we work hard all week, look forward to the weekend and after that middle day of the week, Wednesday, we seem to have the “worst” of the week’s work hours behind us.

We’re “over that hump”  because we’ve been doing our duty.

By analogy,  we as  a nation have a big “hump” to get over, but I don’t know the duration of our work, so I don’t know  how long  we’ll even be tackling that “hump”  or looking forward to putting it behind us.

This is the hump,  a growing hump, actually   —

9 11 end

This is its message to us,  whether we’re listening or not.    Its principles are 180 degrees away from our own culture and values.    That means someone grasps your head and jerks it halfway around on your neck so you’re seeing something opposite of what you want to see.   Shariah is 180 degrees away from “democracy.”

I will try to dedicate Wednesdays’ writings to this topic.

With examples and illustrations.

Let’s start with the children.   I’ve already showed you photos of little toddlers learning how to cut the heads of their teddy bears off – with  a knife.     I’ve showed you little children training with guns that seem  too big for them.    How about these BOOM TWINS?

BOOM Twins s

The BOOM TWINS.   For real.    That’s a screen shot of their last photograph.   The accompanying article described how their father kissed them after this shot – kissed them good-bye.  They were fitted with ex pl^  osi ve    vests – and used in a baw^ming somewhere in the Middle East.

BOOM.   They’re all gone now.

As a former teacher of 12-year-olds, sometimes;  as a  mom of kids who used to be 12 years old;    and as a woman who was 12 years old once;   as a human being who hopes there are many happy  12-year-olds in the world now and in the future,     I find this repulsive,  evil, alarming,   and, quite frankly,  I’m frightened by the deafening silence coming from most of the world.

This aggressive political/religious movement has awakened and is advancing much faster than we have even noticed yet.       Recently,  these people planned to build a 220,000 square foot  mos^  que/religious center in an American community quite near where I live. The community voting overwhelmingly against it, something like 38,000 to 1,400.

The “religious” people promptly sued, crying discrimination,   and . . .  they’re not only building their new facility,  but the American city will pay for their insurance costs – and will pay for their $200,000 insurance deductibles in the future.

It would be very useful if we stopped to figure that one out.    It’s becoming a very big hump.

I’ve been saving these next photos for a while, and I don’t want to wait any longer.   Men and women are so complementary to each other.  God made us equal in value, equal in worth,  and happily,  of great help to each other.     A culture cannot put down one sex or the other and expect to function well or for very long.   Denigrate one sex and you weaken the whole culture.

Here is a very eager crowd:

Woman eager camera

They’re waiting for something to begin and they’re taking photos of the people coming up onto the platform.

There are bareheaded young men and head-covered young women.

And the action BEGINS!

Woman and cane

The man in brown is taking aim.   The woman is going to be caned, in public. Does it matter what her crime was?    Does it even matter how many blows she was given?   It is an abomination – to a Christian mind –  that this could even happen.   No one in the crowd wants to stop it.    Their minds are 180 degrees turned around from our minds.

Yes, it’s in Indonesia.   this time.   But here in America we are already having a problem with  “honor” killings,  faces destroyed by acid,  genital mutilations,   forced abortions,  forced rapes,  forced marriages . .  .  humiliations and beatings within those marriages.  Rapes, beatings, and bullying of Americans.    Please remember, for instance,  the little child in Idaho,  raped and beaten in her own apartment building, by a group of boys from this foreign culture, some too young to even carry out the rape.

When this caning was over with,  the women, in the pink headscarf,  had to be carried off.

Woman carried away

This is not a religion.    This is not even a political movement.

This is just . . .  Trash:

Religion of Trash.jpg

This is the new “movement”    that faces the Western World, formerly Christendom;  a Western World  that used to know how to deal with growing “humps” like this.

Humps can grow mighty big.

DEJA VU HISTORY – 15th CENTURY –

January 31, 2017

First,  a  little Rant –

“Deja vu all over again” ??   No!  I’m not going to state that culturally -imposed knee-jerk reaction which trivializes the actual (quite rare) phenomena.

“He who is ignorant of history is condemned to repeat it...” ??    No!    We hear that so often that we’re oblivious to its serious meaning.

But humans are always humans and similar events do come up again and we should learn from those who  lived before we do,  because they really lived in this world and gained experience.

It is arrogance, narcissism, and hubris to reject what they have learned;  and it is criminal negligence for government schools to keep a knowledge of history from us and to pass on a version of history that was rewritten by current political ideology.

bar-fancy-line

So.  Now.    I’ll just be matter-of-fact.      Factual.

It was my intention to re-study the 16th century because I know I’ll have to answer many questions about it  during this fateful year of multiple anniversaries, one of which is 1517, the reputed beginning of the “Reformation. ”

(Book recommendation:   “The Unintended Reformation”    by  Brad S. Gregory.)

But I needed to know some background and I got “stuck” in the 15th century –  an amazing and interesting century all over Europe  (anyone familiar with Game of Thrones?),  but unfortunately  a century with familiar circumstances to us in the 21st.

Let’s just do Spain.     After repeated attacks, robberies, knifings,  killings,  banditry,  political assassinations, courtroom disruptions committed by the Moors who were resident in Spain,    it became clear that Spanish citizens, the “indigenous” people of Spain,  were presented with life-and-death danger every day.

The Moors claimed Spain for their worldwide Caliphate and wanted to re-start their war of conquest.   The Moors were the “conquistadores,” so to speak against  the Spanish people.

If this was your home,  you were somewhat safe:

guadamur-castle

But if you had to travel somewhere,  or if your  home was a smaller “suburb” or remote village, or if you were a farmer,   then you faced death or capture and forced slavery and conversion to the Moorish religion.    (We call it Islam today.)

(By the way,  for those of you who have learned the re-written version of history,   the truth is that the Church forbade forced conversions to the Catholic faith.  In writing.   In documents.   All over the world.     And the penalty for those who tried it was excommunication from the Church.  And many were.   The real Church teaches that you don’t force anyone to become Catholic. )

But the Moors did force Christians to convert, according to what is written in their book.

So here is the likeness between that time and ours:     As more and more protective laws were developed in 15th century Spain,   restricting the movement of the Moors,  more and more Moors pretended conversion to the Catholic faith.    It’s in their  book that you can do that if it advances the cause.

images-rejected

I doubt if many 15th century Moors ever understood the images in this painting.   I’m sure many   Moors were repulsed by it,  including some converts.

Many more Christians were killed because of these new “Christians”  being given the same  advantages as the Christian Spanish citizens.

So now in today’s news, I read:   Because the Previous President issued some orders to detain certain people from certain countries and because the Current President has decided enforce those orders,   the entertainment-news media  (in America and in Europe)  are announcing that President Trump is “banning Muslims from entering the United States.”

A falsehood, of course,  but believed by people in those certain countries.    And so, according to some news today,  many Muslims are converting to the Christian faith in order to enter the United States.

Is there anyone in the world who will doubt the sincerity of all these conversions?     All of them?     All?

Of course not.

Is there anyone who doesn’t know that this was a successful strategy used in the past by other “converts”  and dangerous to the citizens of the target nation?

. . . .

safe-home

My loved ones and I don’t live in a safe home, like this.

And we’re not protected by soldiers looking out for us, like this:

safe-soldiers

But those who have declared themselves to be enemies of the United States are coming . . .

invading-not-migrating

. . .    by the hundreds of thousands.

And some of these have declared their intentions.

“. . .the WORLD.”

“Freedom can go to hell” ??        Freedom is a Western value.

Deja vu?   Once upon a time there was a mindset to protect Western values:

fight

The Catholic Church has said that every nation has a right to protect itself, its citizens,  its borders and culture.    Every nation has a right to exist.

I hope indeed that this part of history repeats itself.
