July 17th

July 18, 2017

(One more thing to say, while it is still “July 17th”  somewhere in the world tonight.)
I want to pay tribute to some very dear young ladies,  innocent,  pure,  sweet, and very, very courageous.

France gave us the first example of a modern European totalitarian state.  They cried out “Liberty!  Equality!  and Fraternity!”   to make people think they were benign.  They gave us the modern terms  “Left”  and “Right”  when it comes to political opinions, and acted as though “Left”  was the only legitimate way to think.

And if they could not convince you of their arguments  (and their arguments are indefensible),  then they used the force of the law against you.

(In America this has recently shown up as:  “You don’t think the State should decide who gets health care, when,  and how much???  —  Then we’ll just write some laws and a stack of regulations six feet high that make it illegal for anyone to not have State-run health “care.”)

Back to France,  if you don’t agree with the State, as it formed in 1789,  then there are laws against you – enforced by the guillotine.

You know the story.

Here are the names of the innocent young ladies,  singing sweetly, testifying to their hope in Jesus Christ alone,   all the way to the top of the stairs where they knelt down under the blade:

* Madeleine-Claudine Ledoine (Mother Teresa of St. Augustine), prioress, b. in Paris, 22 Sept., 1752, professed 16 or 17 May, 1775;

* Marie-Anne (or Antoinette) Brideau (Mother St. Louis), sub-prioress, b. at Belfort, 7 Dec., 1752, professed 3 Sept, 1771;

* Marie-Anne Piedcourt (Sister of Jesus Crucified), choir-nun, b. 1715, professed 1737; on mounting the scaffold she said “I forgive you as heartily as I wish God to forgive me”;

* Anne-Marie-Madeleine Thouret (Sister Charlotte of the Resurrection), sacristan, b. at Mouy, 16 Sept., 1715, professed 19 Aug., 1740, twice sub-prioress in 1764 and 1778;

* Marie-Antoniette or Anne Hanisset (Sister Teresa of the Holy Heart of Mary), b. at Rheims in 1740 or 1742, professed in 1764;

* Marie-Françoise Gabrielle de Croissy (Mother Henriette of Jesus), b. in Paris, 18 June, 1745, professed 22 Feb., 1764, prioress from 1779 to 1785;

* Marie-Gabrielle Trézel (Sister Teresa of St. Ignatius), choir-nun, b. at Compiègne, 4 April, 1743, professed 12 Dec., 1771;

* Rose-Chrétien de la Neuville, widow, choir-nun (Sister Julia Louisa of Jesus), b. at Loreau (or Evreux), in 1741, professed probably in 1777;

* Anne Petras (Sister Mary Henrietta of Providence), choir-nun, b. at Cajarc (Lot), 17 June, 1760, professed 22 Oct., 1786.

* Concerning Sister Euphrasia of the Immaculate Conception accounts vary. Miss Willson says that her name was Marie Claude Cyprienne Brard, and that she was born 12 May, 1736; Pierre, that her name was Catherine Charlotte Brard, and that she was born 7 Sept., 1736. She was born at Bourth, and professed in 1757;

* Marie-Geneviève Meunier (Sister Constance), novice, b. 28 May, 1765, or 1766, at St. Denis, received the habit 16 Dec., 1788. She mounted the scaffold singing “Laudate Dominum”.

In addition to the above, three lay sisters suffered and two tourières.

The lay sisters are:

* Angélique Roussel (Sister Mary of the Holy Ghost), lay sister, b. at Fresnes, 4 August, 1742, professed 14 May, 1769;

* Marie Dufour (Sister St. Martha), lay sister, b. at Beaune, 1 or 2 Oct., 1742, entered the community in 1772;

* Julie or Juliette Vérolot (Sister St. Francis Xavier), lay sister, b. at Laignes or Lignières, 11 Jan., 1764, professed 12 Jan., 1789.

The two tourières, who were not Carmelites at all, but merely servants of the nunnery were: Catherine and Teresa Soiron, b. respectively on 2 Feb., 1742 and 23 Jan., 1748 at Compiègne, both of whom had been in the service of the community since 1772.

I think we should remember them.  I think we should know their names.     They were somebodies’  sisters and daughters.    I think we should pay some small tribute to them,  victims  of the first  Big  Atheistic State Government in Europe.

I told their story before in The Spruce Tunnel.  You can see some pictures here in “One Last Small Song.”

(Unfortunately, we can hear death speak all around us)

1917 – 2017:    “… or else, Russia will spread her errors throughout the world.”

Interviewer:   “Does that include America?”

Sister Lucia:  “Yes.”

Of course,  the  Russian people didn’t invent those errors;  the Russian-Soviet government just became expert at implementing them and spreading them into other nations —  by war and, as I said in the last post,  by the spread of economic and Cultural Marxism.

(For you old-timers,  “McCarthyism has come to mean a hysterical search for “communists”  under every bed, in every closet.  However,  when Soviet documents were released in the mid-90s,  it came to light that Senator McCarthy hadn’t been aware of even half of the communist infiltrators into our society.)

Economic and Cultural Marxism:   They bring ruin wherever they are spread.

Venezuela ran out of basic consumer goods,  and toilet paper, and food.   The news reports that the average Venezuelan has lost about twenty pounds;  the hard way.   Here they share handfuls from a garbage bag.

soc dumpster diving

The authorities in Venezuela ran out of something too:   tear gas.

Soc tear gasd needed

They’ve used it all up trying to keep their angry, starving citizens under control and they’ve put out a request to other countries for more.    Such a beautiful country – but now you have to get permission to cross the border to buy basic goods in the next country.

The United States is heading that way into bankruptcy too.    Illinois, for example, no longer has enough money to run the government – for real.   If you buy a lottery ticket in Chicago, chances are the authorities will not be able to pay you your winnings.     Detroit?    California?    I have so many examples to give you of one-party rule because once they get into office . . .  they find ways to stay.

This isn’t a catalog of woes caused by  communism- socialism –  liberalism – the Progressives – the Democrats –  whatever they want to be called.  It’s just that the same -ism mindset leads to poverty,  oppressive laws,  control of the individual,  loss of choices,  loss of freedom,  and tyranny — and to death.

The reason is awful – ly  simple.   The ideas that begat all these -isms  were begotten themselves by the ultimate Source of death.    Suppose you rejected the Author of Life,  the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.    Suppose you began listening to the voice of God’s Enemy and your writings create a World Undone.

desk a world undone by hellish vapors

The author of all these bright new ideas that begat all the -isms that plague us today is this man,  Karl Marx.

desk marx writing

And he knew what he was doing.   He was a tortured man, and he wrote about what forces inspired his theories:

The hellish vapors rise and fill the brain

Till I go mad and  my heart is utterly changed

“See this Sword,”

the Prince of Darkness  said to me.

For me he beats the time and gives the signs

Even more boldly I play the Dance of Death.

In this, his poem,  he’s telling us that he listened to the Prince of Darkness.    And further,  he tells us that he knows  the consequences:

 Thus heaven I’ve forfeited

I know it full well

My soul, once true to God,

Is chosen for Hell.

He played the Dance of Death and gave that Dance to the world.

Death follows.   Then Hell.

Can we turn away from Death and begin following the principles of Life?

No.  apparently not.    Not on our own power.

March 17, 2017

(I have to repeat this yet again:  “There is something wrong with the passage of time!  It is speeding by too fast” —  too fast to take in all the things that each week offers us.)

And so this post is still thinking through the things of March 15 . . .

March 15,  on this day we remember the life and martyrdom of St. Longinus –  the name given to that Centurion who thrust the spear into the side of Jesus after He had died on the Cross.

Longinus Card 220

The story makes sense:    The Jews in Palestine at the time knew the Law:  “Cursed is anyone who hangs from a tree”  (i.e.,  a criminal, executed);     and if the criminal is allowed to hang there overnight,  then the whole land is cursed.

The three men executed had to be killed before sunset and taken down from their  “trees”     or else the large Jewish population would revolt against the Roman authorities.

The Jews in Palestine would also have known that any lamb to be sacrificed had to be perfect,  unblemished,  and never to have any broken bones, before, during, or after.

To fulfill the Law,  then, the Roman authorities sent out the order to the Centurion in charge to break the bones of the three so that they would die quickly, before sunset that day.    But the Centurion found Jesus already dead.   Probably.   It looked like it.   To make sure,  he thrust his spear into the side of Jesus.

The Catholic Church was born that day,  from the water and blood,  (the spiritual meaning of the Water and Blood)  that gushed out of the side of the dead body of Jesus.*      Eerie, un-explainable phenomena had taken place in the natural world that day;  and now at the sight of this Water and Blood,  it was remarked, then,  “Surely this   (actually) was the Son of God!”

All parts of this Day have been preserved and recorded –  including  the part that this Centurion played and the lance that he used.    The tale was told in Greek and Latin and in subsequent languages of Europe.    Thus, in Greek:   λόγχη   –   meaning “lance”  which is not too far from the name  “Longinus”  now given to this Centurion.  For his part and for his conversion to the faith of Christ,  he is called St. Longinus.      The remark attributed to him,  (surely, this was the Son of God!)  has confirmed the faith of many.

It’s a tale well worth pondering – and internalizing.      My Roman Martyrology for March 15th begins with this short statement about him:  ” At Caesarea in Cappadocia the martyrdom of St. Longinus who is said to have pierced our Lord’s side with a spear.”

SED CONTRA   (but contrariwise):    (just in case you haven’t joined the cynical modern-day scoffers,  religion-wiki offers you that chance!)    —

I had time to look around on the Internet for some more information –  and eventually came to the odd and sometimes untrustworthy site of Wikipedia,  which carries the predictable words:  doubt, doubt, doubt,  unreliable sources,  apocryphal,  legend, pseudopigraphical,  perhaps,  been asserted to,   folklore,  local tradition, etc., etc.

And then this odd statement:   In the Roman Martyrology he is mentioned, without any indication of martyrdom, in the following terms: “At Jerusalem, commemoration of Saint Longinus, who is venerated as the soldier opening the side of the crucified Lord with a lance.”

Wait!  But my Roman Martyology  said he WAS martyred.

He was mentioned along with an indication of his martyrdom . . . .

It’s not a big thing, except as it is part of a subtle rewriting of the history of Western Civilization that is going on all over, all around us, and at breathtaking depth and speed.

We truly live in an age of Fake News,  Fake Information,  just about Fake Everything.  There is a reason for this,  a methodology,  but that’s not my point here.      Right now, these days,  I am more concerned with something called The Tipping Point,  as well as the growing  movement towards Totalitarianism.

The stakes are high.

spear of destiny

We have this spear from almost two thousand years ago.      It was the “Spear of Destiny” given all sorts of supernatural powers by those who believe in . . .   anything.    (“When one stops believing in God, one doesn’t believe in Nothing;  one will believe Anything!”  (GKC))

And such we have personified by the man who last led a portion of our world into Totalitarianism.    Hitler.   He truly believed that the two   “spooky, supernatural”  items from the time of Christ  (the Christ Figure, I suppose),  which are the Spear and the Holy Grail, would give him the godlike powers he tried so hard to attain.

The bridge to our day and a new totalitarian way of thinking?

Hitler (and his companions) were masters at managing the attitudes and enthusiasms of millions of people.     He was a master of propaganda  and mass mind control (of the “scientific”  or “psychological”  kind – I’m not referring to any spooky supernatural mind-control),   and of manipulating the minds of crowds and masses of German people.  There were subtle changes made to their history,  their culture,  their “destiny.”

Studying the minute details of how this was accomplished day to day in Hitler’s Germany will reveal chilling similarities to what is being accomplished today.    From  subtle and not-so-subtle changes in our textbooks and other sources of information,   to entertainment which entices us to enjoy the new morality and agree with the new mindset,   to  Fake News that knows it’s Fake but also knows its lasting effects even when it gets caught out,  to the “children” on campuses who will not allow any other opinion but the one they’ve been propagandized with – and will become violent to shut out any diverse opinion . . ..

We have it all – and so much more.

I watch this growing trend towards the Group Think of the totalitarian mindset –  and I wonder:  When are we going to reach that Tipping Point – and experience the fulfillment of consequences that we didn’t even realize we were forming.

The Tipping Oint towards the full reality of Totalitarianism.

Bar Cross in middle

.*    It was His death that was the Sacrifice, offered to the Creator,  God the Father,  that enabled the many benefits of salvation and grace to pour out into the world.      (This Teaching has been a bit mangled in the last few decades – but that is our fault,  it’s not the Teachings that have changed.)

To Abraham it was said that one of his descendants would bring Blessings upon the whole world.”    These Blessings refer to the future one-time Sacrifice of Christ which effected the  sure possibility of Salvation offered to anyone in the world who wants it.     Thus, at the time of His death,  Christ’s Church begins.

(Or:  “Meat in Cuba.  Not.)

I’m not the sentimental type.   I don’t really cry when I read a touching book.   But decades ago when Ernest Hemingway was fast becoming one of my favorite authors,  I needed some summer reading and chose  The Old Man and the Sea.    And I cried then,  not for anything specific that happened in the book,  but for the unrelenting, helpless tragedy of the whole  human situation.

I read it the next summer;   same reaction.  Next summer;  same reaction.   It became a tradition,  something to mark the coming of summer.    I began to struggle through the book in German – that distracted me –  but I still “feel” that same awful, helpless feeling when I think of The Old Man and the Sea.

That wasn’t my first emotional experience with Cuba.

It was 1962, and I came home from school to see my big strong Marine Corps veteran dad sitting in front of the TV with a white face.     It was the Cuban Missile Crisis.    My dad’s exact words were:  “This could be it.”

He feared nuclear weapons, which were about 90 miles away from our coastline.   I didn’t.  I mean I grew up with the threat of being instantly incinerated without notice — it was common knowledge —  but to my dad it was a new threat.

Neither of us could do anything about the current threat that Cuba was presenting to us.

Later, as a young adult, I saw the Godfather movies.    Got a good firsthand glimpse of how Cuba had been changed by the Socialist Revolution.      Our family’s country-of-origin was strongly affected by the Socialist Revolution of Russia.  My Grandma would never wear the color red.

I read about Saint Anthony Mary Claret,  a wonderful, hard-working sainted man who was sent from Spain to Cuba and fell in love with the new land  and the people.

He suffered physically and emotionally there  as he  brought the Gospel to the people, climbing up and down the beautiful green mountains of Cuba on foot – so he’d be sure to reach all of the Cuban people he could find.

Beautiful hot, humid, mosquito-infested,  disease ridden mountains.     But lives were changed for the better as the people learned of Christ’s love.  Villages became workable and more prosperous.  Both crime and despair lessened.

I admire this man very much.  I admire his faith in the goodness of God and His power to change lives.   I admire his faithful persistence on behalf of the Cuban people and his love for them.     He was actually made the Bishop of Cuba and his memory is honored . . .   was honored.

More Cuba:   After I had children of my own and they had grown up safely  (whew!),  I watched as people fled from Communist Cuba.

Conditions were so bad that they tried anything and everything to get away.   Tires, tied together,  attached to sheets of plywood or canvas — and off they’d go into the ocean, towards America.

They would drown,  often in sight of Castro’s gunboats –  who were ordered to NOT save them as they went under the waves.   Thousands of people died.

And then Elian  Gonzales fled into the ocean, with his family.   He was the only survivor.  He was picked up near our coast floating on some tires and was happily received by his own relatives here, who began to get him set up with his own room, new clothes,  good food,  a school . . .    They rejoiced at having him here with them.

And then the socialists  who had infiltrated some high offices in our government —  global socialists  ….

…. kidnapped him — our own government kidnapped him out of his own  new home.

And they sent him back to Cuba,  where after a short time he was taken from his  “biological father”  and placed into the group dormitories the socialists built for little children  where he went to school for a few hours and then picked sugar cane or tobacco for the rest of the day — to enrich  that socialist government under the dictatorship of Fidel Castro.

That was a pretty emotional experience with Cuba for me.

Fidel Castro.    A man of the people  luxury and privilege.     Lived in a $900,000,000   compound with more luxuries than I even knew existed and  had many other estates.   “One of his estates came replete with a rooftop bowling alley and indoor basketball court, as well as a coastal villa next to a private marina with pool, Jacuzzi, and sauna.”

Here’s another quotation from a book by his former bodyguard,    Juan Reinaldo Sanchez,          “With its orange, lemon, mandarin, grapefruit and banana trees, the estate resembled a veritable garden of Eden…”

Two wives,  several mistresses,  hundreds of “lovers” flown in,  and at least nine sons….

Oh, wait.

This is supposed to be about  MEAT IN CUBA.

The government owns it all.  The socialist government own the pastures, the herds, each dairy and beef cow,  and all the meat.     You line up at government offices,  prove who you are and how many people eat in your household,  and then you get  ration  vouchers    . . .   you do this  once every fifteen days!    And you don’t always get a meat ration.

You can have some milk twice a month — if you are pregnant, or if you are under seven years old.

Before socialism,  there were more cattle than people in Cuba.  The island people were prosperous,  hard-working,  and they fed themselves and exported food to others.    Now, another quote:  “Beef is elusive.”       ” All cows are property of the government and anyone caught cooking beef have been known to commit suicide rather than face incarceration. Some farmers would fake a death of a cow just so they could eat them legally. “

Meat in Cuba?

Ask Fidel.

Ask the hundreds,  thousands,  of United States journalists,  movie actors,   and college professors, who praise Fidel,    all  (nearly all)  of whom are radical,  leftist, socialists.

Ask Elian Gonzales how he’s eating today.

Pray for Cuba.

October 13, 2016

We begin that fateful 100th anniversary today.

This is an important anniversary.    I wanted this to be an interesting posting,  fun,   but  it’s got to be more.     Because you should see the expressions on the faces of all the people I know, and a lot more I don’t know.    There’s such a sense of something’s not right.   Something is about to happen .

It’s like the summer of 1939 in Europe.   The summer of 1941 in the United States.

Today is the 99th anniversary of October 13, 1917 –  the last of the serious visions at Fatima, Portugal.    Tomorrow, I suppose you can say,  we begin that 100th year which will end our “probation.”

There were 70,000   people there that dark rainy day on the fields outside the village of Fatima in 1917.   They wanted to see something “big”  happen,  because, before,   all people had seen  was three little children, once a month,  looking up at what they later described as a “beautiful lady.”     The oldest of the three seemed to talk to the Lady.   Then there were a few words about what the Lady had said – and that’s all.

This time they were promised something big.  Something that would prove to everyone that the previous visitations were indeed supernatural.

Portugal was a skeptical country.   Mostly non-believers.   Scoffers of Catholicism – just like our politicians today.

The children were ready.    Then the visions came.   Images that matched the meditations on the Gospel in the Holy Rosary, because that’s what the rosary is:  three sets of Mysteries straight out of the Gospel;  and the children saw three successive visions,  each representative of one of the sets of Mysteries.

That was not the “proof.”    The proof came right after.   Lucia dos Santos,  the oldest,  pointed up at the sky and shouted “Look at the sun!”   Now, don’t get all scientific and skeptical — something did happen,  and it was something overwhelmingly terrifying,  and it DID seem as though the sun were  moving around,  spinning,   giving off weird colors,  and then making a startling plunge towards the  people.

70,000 people screamed,  ran,  fainted,  slipped and fell in the mud,  pleaded for mercy;  and approximately 30,000 more eyewitnesses from the surrounding area, in towns,  walking along other roads,  from apartment buildings,  from shops and stores. some more than 20 miles away saw it all too.   They didn’t know anything was going to occur, so this  “Milagro”  caught them by  surprise.

Rule out mass hysteria or mass hypnosis.   So many eyewitnesses,  and not all of them were in the same place.  And many were hard-hearted and determined atheists who were only out that day to watch a bunch of Catholics make fools of themselves.

But it happened.        The Miracle of the Sun.

Other miracles occurred simultaneously there in the field.   Some people were cured of diseases.  Some blind people found they could see.  Crutches were abandoned.   And everyone’s clothing was dry and clean!

(Actual photograph before the Miracle) –

Today’s scientists have estimated that the amount of heat energy needed to dry the clothes of 70,000 rain-soaked, muddy people was so great that it would have melted the people,  annihilated them.

So something happened on October 13th, 1917,  and it’s not explainable by human knowledge.

There is much information about Fatima, all six occurrences,  on the Internet.     The facts don’t change, the eyewitness accounts don’t change.      The Lord God really wanted us to know something and to take it seriously – and to believe it.

So what do we need to know?   In 1917 we were told that God is very angry with us for our lack of religious faith,  for our immorality,   for our immodesty in dress,  for our “sexual sins,”   for the perversion and violence that we enjoy,  for blasphemies, profanities, and all the outrages against the majesty of God our Creator.

That was in 1917!    How bad could it have been then?   How much worse is it now?

We needed to know some things:  pray,  and pray more;   do penance in reparation for our sinning;  make daily sacrifices to God;  pray for others — and one big instruction:  the hierarchy of the Church, acting together at the same moment in time,  make a consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart.   ( – of Mary;   If you don’t have the right understanding of Mary,  you really won’t have an accurate understanding of Jesus.)

That’s it.   Pray, do penance,  make sacrifices,  stop sinning,  make this consecration.

But.  If.   Not. . . .

A worse war will come.   And if still not,  Russia will “spread her errors” around the world and whole nations will be annihilated . . .   worse wars . . .  carnage . . .

What are these “errors of Russia”?    Well, they are less and less of Russia and more and more of the Western World,  Europe and America.    But it was in Russia that these “errors” first most successfully were spread and permeated that whole nation.

These are the errors that came out of the Revolutionary men around the time of the French Revolution –  an error in thinking and logic that perverted the philosophies of the whole world – a spreading, contagious canker that destroyed goodness and truth wherever it went.

These errors,  diabolically inspired at the desk of Karl Marx and blossoming into a hundred choking miasmas of evil,  bring misery and poverty and  oppression and death  —   more than 100,000,000 people killed by their own governments.

I asked a couple years ago,  how could Karl Marx have done this?    What was he that his ideas could have started such a conflagration,  ready to be spread around the world,  first in Russia, then everywhere else?

Karl Marx had a”visitor”  in his study, where he conceived these Leftist, Marxist ideas.  He describes many places in his writings, and he was finally “moved”  to work out his mental torments in poetry.

I first wrote about them  here . . . the Sword of Hell.

I’ll copy just the  one stanza where he gives in to his diabolical visitor and knows just what choice he has made — fame,  and Hell:

 Thus heaven I’ve forfeited

I know it full well

My soul, once true to God,

Is chosen for Hell.

He made a deliberate choice.     He knew what he was choosing.   His political writings would become the punishing Sword for the whole world.

Something is coming.   Something big and terrible is coming.     Something is about to happen.

An election is about to happen.    We, too, could choose to wield  Marx’s Sword  against our own selves.

This election seems to be not about choosing one candidate or the other;  but rather we are choosing whether we want America to continue —  because “many nations will be annihilated.”             A just punishment  for  continued sin and defiance.

Something is about to happen,  I can see it on people’s faces.   Can it be stopped?

Why “100 years”?     The king of France in 1689 was told to do something; to  choose God for his nation rather than materialistic pleasures, riches, and political power.

He didn’t.  God waited 100 years and still no change.

In 1789  his successor,  King Louis XVI,  was beheaded,  and his France,  that France,  was gone.

February 18, 2016

I think this just about shows my opinion of current American politics:

We’re pretty much burning down our own house.

I was actually there at that house, once a few years ago.  Hubbie and I visited South Carolina and we stopped in to see the lovely Boone Plantation.   Well cared for, gracious,  and beautiful.    Civil.     Of course, it wasn’t on fire  then- and it never was.   This is a scene from a Hollywood movie that was filmed at that location.

But it feels like a terrible loss anyway.

If we have a thousand or so years left on this planet . . . (which some doubt – but I think it could be possible)  then historians at that time in the future will look back on America circa 1800-2100 and write us in as footnote, perhaps;  a footnote to a discussion about “democracies and republics after the tradition of Greece and Rome.”

That’s all.   Republics don’t last much longer than a couple hundred years.   But our immortal souls will,  and whatever political system we’re born into will not help determine our everlasting destiny.

Just so you know I’m not too alarmed by all this political mess.

So,  who’s running for the office of the president in the 2016 election?  I have two philosophical enemies:   One is the philosophy of Revolutionary Men:

That would be the French Revolution – the one that gave us the political terms  “Left” and “Right”  — sitting in the chairs on the Left side of parlement, or on the Right side.  It’s an old term that seems to linger . . .

Not your next pres

She, on the Left,  is currently the favorite of our Rulers.    I don’t know if she’ll make it.  There are some very bad reports of her ill health that just don’t go away and just keep increasing.  She might not make it.  She calls herself a Progressive,   which is about a deceptive a term as you can get.   (What does she want us to “progress”  towards?  If Americans were educated in their own Constitution and History,  they would not vote for her . . .  words.)

The other Leftist candidate at least is honest about his intentions:

O Bernie

(I’ve left the attribution in there.)

Socialism came right out of the French Revolution too (and it’s antecedents) and it has never worked anywhere it has been tried.  As a matter of fact,  wherever it has been imposed,  there has been increasing misery, poverty,   loss of freedom,  and historians have even had to invent a new name for the results of socialism:  Democide!    Well over 100,000,000 people have been killed intentionally by their own socialist governments, mostly in the 20th century.   Killed, punished, dimished,  and impoverished  their own citizens.

Astonishingly,  people either are unaware or unconcerned.   Socialist words are powerful -= because they appeal to human needs.  They don’t answer human needs,  they just appeal to human needs.      And good people hear that appeal.

But just so you know:  if the State sees to it that you get everything you need,  then the State will tell you what you need.   And what you can’t have.   What you need from the State will be defined by the State.  (Not exactly the American ideal of freedom.)

Maybe that’s why the deceptive “progressivism” wins votes too –  they’re a little more subtle about their methods.

But it’s all about gathering your votes.

How about the “other” side?    Those on the “Right”?

Really not much difference, I think, except for a few.   Our Rulers have the one or two that they will permit us.    If we put up too much of a fuss  with our ballot boxes,  then they risk being caught out in the open,  so  they may have to back down for a term or two.   Most of their “dislikes”  have had to drop out of the race;  they got very, very little media coverage, even though some of  their ideas were pretty good.

There is one remaining towering  (ahem!)  figure of defiance.     Just for fun, you may want to listen to how he is treated.   Everyone is talking about him.   If you know what an adjective is,   write down the adjectives you hear describing him on TV, radio, in newspapers, and in social media.    Then put the adjectives in two columns, one for negative, one for positive.

One of those columns will have zero words or phrases.

You can do that with images too,  images of him and images of people talking about him.  Two columns . . . .

The pope has apparently – today –  called this man “not-a-Christian” —  but since this comes from a man who says “we’re all God’s children” and “we’re all on the road to Heaven” —  then I guess that’s pretty meaningless.  What does it matter if you’re not a Christian, beyond some sort of traditional insult.      Well,he’s  “not one to judge” anyway.

Socialism appeals to human needs, to human emotions,  to human feelings.

So there is much in the various information sources about these characters in the 2016 presidential race;   all kinds of opinions.     You can find your way around them.

I  love the United States of America.   I think it was a good idea.    I just really wish enough people will rise up and put the fires out.

burning us

But we’re going to need a lot of intelligent firemen.

February 1, 2016

The Iowa caucus CAN BE an occasion to lift our thoughts above our usual superficial thinking, and above the thoughts that others give to us.   We can ask:  “What in the world is going on in Iowa?” So, in three parts,  I write for you some political thoughts;  that is,  thoughts that concern the Body Politic.

Initially, my first thought on a portion of  the Iowa caucus was this:

This is not the general population of Iowa!  But they say that the many supporters of Bernie Sanders there and elsewhere are mainly “young people.”    Though mentally and intellectually underage,  they do get to vote.

He is a self-declared “socialist,”  we have heard     These children who support the romantic notion of socialism have  NEVER been made to study or read or even become remotely acquainted with the effects of any political or social revolution, and so they believe the “socialist” revolution that they can produce by their enthusiasm will bring about a “better world.”

“Enthusiasm!  High hopes for change!  Our leaders will transform us into a better society!”     It sounds appealing.   But there is nowhere in the history of this planet that shows evidence for the success of socialism;  but everywhere it has been attempted, you will find its failure, especially in terms of over-extended and failing economies..

The children-voters don’t know.  They are uneducated.   But they are well-informed and  well-trained in the propaganda that brings about  “hope and change” in the context of Big Brother type governments which promise everything to everyone.

As one commenter says:  “I’m lazy.  I’m going to vote for Bernie Sanders because he’s going  to GIVE me everything I need.”

This is a revolution in American thinking —   a revolution that has been inserting itself into our nation for the past several decades, and which is well under way to undermining our strength and viability in every sector of our society.

To succeed, it must use a generation of “children”  who have been miseducated,   propagandized, intellectually weakened ,  morally corrupted, and made to do all the things which have made humans feel justifiably guilty  for during the past ten thousand years (since at least the end of the last Ice Age).

They must have been made to love pleasure and to disdain hard work and independence — and they must be made fearful of  life and their own capabilities.  And they must not know the fatal  consequences to a nation that is conquered by socialism — after the “hopes and dreams”  become a disastrous reality.

A pleasure-seeking, corrupted society is one that is easy to lead . . . .   Every socialist knows this.  Destroy the family,  destroy family values, and you have destroyed your strongest enemy.

“I’m going to vote for Bernie Sanders because he’s going to GIVE me everything I need.”

This is called:    slavery.

These super-annuated useful idiots, as Lenin called them (I wouldn’t call them that),  are indeed helping to bring about a kind of global slavery.

Personally,  I choose to observe the evidence of actual history.  I don’t trust people who smile at me and promise me good things — if only I give them more and more of my money for policies that have never yet worked and give up more and more of my privacy and freedom  for a “bright” future that has never yet begun to come about.

What gives me the right to disparage  our “young people”?   To shorten the length of this posting,   I’ll tell you and  I’ll put forward for you  two dangers,   the internal attack on our nation and the external attack –  both of which we can witness as they happen,  but I’ll do it in the next post.

11-6-13 WHO WON?

January 30, 2013

 I think this man won:

hrushchev shoe

I was there….I mean I watched this on the television news shortly after Premier Khrushchev took off his shoe at the UN and pounded it on the podium.   EVERYone was talking about it!   I was a girl, not quite what they were starting to call “teenager”  (a term meant to divide families into opposing and competing demographic groups)   but I was well aware of what this man was telling us.

And we didn’t believe him.

1.   The Soviet Union was an atheist nation;  America was a nation of Christian values.

2.  The State ruled over Soviet Russia;   in America we had a constitution which said that every American citizen was equal before the law….(and for those of you who have been taught to disagree,  we changed bad laws that didn’t conform to the US constitution.)     Our constitution guaranteed our liberty.

3.   The Soviets were a demoralized nation;  crime and black markets were rampant.   America was largely a moral nation;  nearly everyone was law-abiding and worked hard to get ahead in life.   Our  entertainment reflected our common moral values.

4.   The Soviet socialists had crushed Russia’s economy by their control-from-the-top.   America had a regulated but free market, and our economy was growing.

5.  The Soviet education system was inferior to ours;  American students consistently scored highest among all industrial nations.    Highest.  Number One.

So we didn’t believe him when he took off his shoe, pounded the podium, and said this:

Khrushchev words

And we didn’t notice as the socialists systematically, quietly, and effectively destroyed our nation.   A nation cannot have a strong economy without moral integrity, practiced in common, in public, and upheld by laws and a trustworthy judicial system.

We can observe that the public culture here in our country no longer reflects the moral and ethical standards still held my many Americans.     Who took over our entertainment and information media?   Who fed us a steady and shocking diet of immoral movies, books, and music?    Our health, infant mortality rates, our moral behavior, our work ethics, our educational achievements have all plummeted within a few short decades.

Not my opinion.  You can observe too.   you can check the statistics.

We no longer can even tell what’s happening to us.

These photos came from an email that’s being passed around and was finally forwarded to  me   Ironically, the words on the email illustrate our fallen standards:   The name Khrushchev was spelled a few different ways,  none of them correctly.  I can hear a  (socialist-inspired) teacher say,  “”Spelling?  What does it matter?”     I know;  I was a young teacher in a government school when we were told that spelling and grammar no longer matter.    To my astonishment,  the older teachers rolled over and obeyed.

Yeah, this is Tuesday,  the day of the week that I like to remember the socialist election of 11-6-13.

Anyone still fighting back?
